How to make it as a female entrepreneur in the health and wellness space…

We’ve worked with a lot of business leaders from all walks life and different parts of the world, and we wanted to share the mindset and story of one stand out female business leader who we’ve had the pleasure to be aligned with.

Samanta Moise is a medical professional and busy mother of four, and on top of that she runs one of the more successful ecommerce health and beauty shops in North Jersey, La Parea Wellness. So how is Samanta able to balance it all while operating under the same 24 hours a day as the rest of us?

It starts with her entrepreneurial mindset…

Samanta is optimistic. Having the right, positive attitude is what allows business owners like her to swiftly jump over the many hurdles that they inevitably encounter on the weekly, if not the daily. What we like about Samanta is that she has calculated optimism, not blind optimism. It is important to understand the difference. Calculated optimism allows you to remain realistic about the outcomes and persevere with a positive attitude through the tough times, whereas blind optimism is when you disregard logical outcomes.

Samanta is full of energy and vibrance. She takes care of herself so that she can take care of her business. She eats healthy, exercises, and uses her own healthful products which help many others. She understands that you cannot pour tea from an empty kettle and so she makes sure she’s never running on empty. We’ve had many experiences with startups and entrepreneurs that drive themselves to exhaustion and simply burn out. Clients respond favorably to business leaders who evoke effervescence rather than stress and fatigue. The entrepreneurship game is a marathon, not a race and you have to be prepared to treat it as such.

Samanta has vision. As an entrepreneur you can’t afford to be nearsighted or farsighted. You have to be able to see both the big picture and the small picture. She has the ability to see the business from the different perspectives necessary; the marketing perspective, the managerial perspective, the sales perspective, so on and so forth.

Finally and arguably most importantly, Samanta has the willingness to adapt. To remain competitive and operate efficiently, an entrepreneur needs to adapt with the changing times. You constantly need to re-evaluate your business model, product line, marketing strategies, etc. La Parea Wellness has a relatively large line of products and they do an excellent job prioritizing what to sell during certain parts of the season.
